Publisher's Descriptions

Inspired by the eponymous screen saver from BeOS, Message fills your screen with text in a variety of randomly (yet carefully!) chosen color/font configurations.

The source of the text is up to you. Message can display the output of any Terminal program (like “fortune,” the BSD fortune-cookie program, or maybe just “date,” to get the date and time). Or type in any Unicode text you like (something utilitarian perhaps, like “back in an hour” ... or maybe a selection of Unicode dingbats from the Character Palette).

Message blows Windows’ old “Marquee” screensaver right out of the water.

System Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
What's New
Version 1.5.2:
  • Fixes a problem with the built-in fortune script (that either runs the real "fortune" or displays a helpful error message). Message should work with the BSD fortune package again.
  • Adds some additional eye candy to message captions.
